Works in Progress

I’m doing Nanowrimo again this year, and the resulting first draft is being published daily on my blog, apparently out of pure insanity on my part. You can read it all here.

I started my current  actually serious work-in-progress about three years ago, and I’m working on the third draft now. It’s a fantasy adventure story, set in a world where magic is poison and mekkaneering is powerful, called Chasing the Core.

It started with a strange mekkaneering device called the Core. Tyberius stole it. Graska was sent to recover it, and kill him. But Tyberius lost it pretty quickly when his buyer crossed him, and he couldn’t outrun Graska forever.

It was supposed to be a simple deal. Ty figured he’d trade his help in exchange for Graska putting off his execution. Graska thought she’d keep him close while she tracked down the Core, and besides, he was useful.

It wasn’t much of a partnership. But the Core is more dangerous than either of them realize, and getting it back before it’s used to destroy the world means they’ll have to learn to work together.

Trust doesn’t come easily to a disgraced elvish thief and a paranoid orc assassin. And even if they succeed, only one will survive their rematch to take the Core home.
